currently listening to: this must be the place by talking heads

days like today make me feel guilty every time a frown crosses my face or a negative thought enters my mind because the reasons to smile always outnumber any reasons not to.

"it's college. let whatever happens, happen... only time in your life when you can do that" -matt rybak

we're anything brighter than the sun
(we're everything greater than books might mean)
we're ever anything more than believe
(with a spin leap alive we're alive)
we're wonderful one times one

in interpersonal communication, we learned about how in intimate relationships with romantic feelings there are three elements: an event brings two people together, you "convince yourself" the other is attractive, and there is an emotional response (arousal). my professor presented three scenarios that create different relationships.

1. attraction and arousal = longing- no shared event
2. events and attraction = friendship
3. arousal and event = creepy- you feel nervous and anxious without the attraction

i thought this was so interesting because i could think about examples in my own life at present for each of these situations. it just made me think about how perfect circumstances have to be for for both people for everything to go right.
